My middle daughter lives in Scottsdale (Phoenix suburb).  I used to spend a couple weeks during the summer in Tucson.  I was born and raised in northwestern Indiana.  I now live on the north side of Dallas, Texas.  Frankly, I'll take the heat any day over cold!

My wife was born in Glendale, California, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.  In late March of 1965 I took my now wife up to Indiana to meet my family.  The next day she was sitting at the kitchen table and saw that it was snowing (about 3 inches and hour).  She said, "look, its snowing".  My mother looked up from what she was doing and said, "light flurries"!

The kind of snowfall in Atlanta would have been a blizzard.  But, to my mother it was "light flurries"!
