I have a spinner knob for a Collins 75A4 that has a set screw in it that has
been "boogered" up by a former owner so that the slot/hole in the top of the set
screw will not accomodate a hex or bristol tool. The knob is off the shaft  so
the screw should not be "tight" but just in the screw hole and should be easily
backed out if there was some way to put pressure on it in the reverse or CCW
direction.

That is why I was inquiring about SMALL CCW drill bits.......thinking a CCW bit
might set inside the screw head and catch enough to move the set screw out.

Another method, I have been thinking about, is to put a dab of fast drying epoxy
on the end of a small allen wrench and sticking it into he wallowed out set
screw head and allowing the expoxy to dry and then turn it CCW. The drawback is
that it would be difficult to keep from getting the epoxy in the screw hold in
the brass insert thereby clogging up the hole.

Just thinking out loud in an attempt to determine the best way to back the set
screw out of the knob. Thanks for the replies. 73, John, K5PGW
