I have to agree with KØUYA abt the "re-kitting". I've done this with Heath and EICO gear and with great success. To date, a Heath DX-60B and HG-10. An Eico 720, 730 and just this past Spring the 723 and 722. All involved gathering a couple of castoffs of each to ensure there were enough un-obtanium parts to proceed. Then, restoral of the cabinets and finally adding new resistors and caps where needed. Put it all in "kit" form and follow the original construction manual. The excitement of building it and the joy of it working is the reward. Maybe the next best thing to opening that new box from Heath or Eico and building the kit. BTW, having some "spare parts" left over makes future repairs a cinch.

Many of us who relish a Heathkit assembly experience re live that by
urchasing a couple junkers at hamfest or auction, disassembling them and
e-assembling with many new parts using the original manual as a guide.
oilla new kit built unit and valuable spare parts to pass on to someone
epairing.
