Rod,

I can only say that I stayed in the "H" shaped quarters at Kadena, AFB.

I was there with the folks from the "HUSH HOUSE".

Anyone knowledgeable about the "Snake", nicknamed "Habu", will know what
and where.

They came out of the hush house, taxied DIRECT to the end of the
runway. There NEVER was an issue of "Whom is next for take-off", they
simply launched.

Since the SR-71 leaked fuel like a sieve until reaching operating temp,
their FIRST objective was a VERY rapid climb and a meeting with the tanker.

I had the chance to go up in one of THOSE tankers, they were a different
model due to the different fuel, and took some pics as the snake came in
for a load of fuel.

Then it goes away.

There were restrictions as to what "documents" that could be carried by
the tanker crews.
