Bah. They are still readily available. A quick scan of ebay turned up
exactly what was being described, item number 160361805626. From an audio
seller by the looks, for a whopping $16.95 and $3.50 S/H. Seller has more
than 10 available.
I got 2 of them from Barron's Surplus a few years back for $5-$6 each, same
shipping for one or several. He probably still has them. Of course, shortly
after they arrived I found the ones I already had, plus a type with the
puller section angled 90 degrees.
The only thing I'd suggest to anyone getting these is to rough up the
plastic coating on the tongs, or use something to soften the material as
they have hardened and tend to slip.
