Hi Dave, et al,
    Yes, it's a problem, probably doesn't happen on 80m.  Take a look at 
http://www.boatanchors.org/valiant.htm for some dialog on it, and one pic 
showing what I did in my Valiant I.
    I just updated that page to show this situation, never got a round tuit 
when it happened.
