Sounds like an illegal "CB" amplifier. The term "bi-linear" is the "giveaway". Various manufacturers of such equipment liked to put amateur bands on the label to try to get around the "no CB" regulations. I would bet that the 27 MHz frequency range is the only segment in which the amplifier will amplify the signal.
Most such amplifiers are VERY dirty and the preferred way to use them is a source of parts.

A 6 meter amp followed me home from a hamfest yesterday. It's a small 6 meter amp. Can find nothing ou on the internet about it or the company that made it. It was made by FIST commercial Communications in Fuller, CA Model: 6MB-100 Six Meter Bi-Linear. It uses a pair of 6LQ6 sweep tubes. Does anyone have any information on this little amp or where I could find a copy of the manual for it?
