Lee,

Can you shim the pins with some thin pieces of copper?  You shouldn't need to completely encircle them; a copper wedge or two per pin should be sufficient.

I haven't been inside my calibrator but the 2-LF (low frequency converter) does require unsoldering to get inside so I imagine the 2C is the same.

The copper often spots and discolors badly even without direct water contact so it may have just been in a somewhat humid environment for awhile.

I need to work on a Drake 2C calibrator.  The Xtal socket needs to be replaced because the crystal will not stay in the socket.  The socket pins have been spread out and will not  make contact.  Has anyone been inside one of these?  It looks like you have to unsolder some places on top of the device to pull the board out.  Anyone have a comment?  Looks like this one has been wet before.

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply.  If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it.  If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense.  Is Common Sense divine?
