[Boatanchors] Drake 2B RX Question

The coil you're referring to is in the plate circuit of the oscillator
and is only involved in bands 20M and up where the oscillator is
operated in overtone mode. It has no effect on 40M, which is almost
always a 6U8 that has finally dropped low enough in gain to fail. A
6EA8 has slightly higher gain and will often resurrect a 40M crystal,
but not always.
Your info IS significant for 20M and up, but not on the lower bands
where the oscillator is operating on the crystal fundamental.
