Mike,

There was what looked like a junker Valiant on eBay as of yesterday in
the ham radio transmitter category.   might be useful.

If you mod a matchbox for 160 I'd try center feeding the zepp.   You
might also consider (if the center feed is not an option) end feeding
it as a random wire, i.e. let a single wire drop down from the end,
and feed that unbalanced against ground radials with a L network tuner
and use the matchbox for HF.  I guess this is in effect an inverted L
instead of an end fed zepp but you may as well treat an unbalanced
antenna with unbalanced feed and an unbalanced tuner.
