   This is good info from someone who 'does this for a living' !  I 
certainly agree that if the tranny is genuinely wet, it's likely to short 
no matter what.

  That being said, I've used the "power" method on several units, one of 
which was actually dripping...  it was a large Stancor out of a piece of 
audio gear - 100 pri, 750-0-750 secondary plus 6.3 and 5V filaments - I 
started out at a very low level and managed to get it dry and happy - 
perhaps with more than my share of luck on that one!  hihi!
