[Boatanchors] Cheaper than an Orange Drop Capacitor?

One more "chime in"

I've used both antique radio supply in Phoenix and Just Radios in Canada.
Both provided quick shipping and problem free transactions. As far as
prices, depending on what I need, one sometimes had a slightly better deal
than the other, and sometimes I needed some stuff that Just Radios didn't
have, and as long I was making an order I would order it all from AES so I'd
have only one shipping charge.

Used to order occasionally from Ocean State Electronics, but rumor has it
that they're having difficulty shipping orders now.

As far as quality, I haven't done hundreds of units like some on this list,
but I have done several dozen, I guess, with the little yellow axials
(wherever they're made!) and have yet to have a failure or problem of any
kind with any of them. Sometimes I'll check them on a cap checker (mostly
to make sure I'm reading the code correctly) and they've always been right
on spec.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Cheaper than an Orange Drop Capacitor?

Hi:
I went shopping on the WWW today to restock my .1 and .01 uf capacitor bins.
Just about fell thru the floor when I saw how much the 400vdc orange drop
caps have increased in cost. Can anyone recommend an alternative and
cheaper source for the standard coupling and bypass caps I need to repair
receivers and the low level stages in transmitters?
Can you recommend a different format cap that will work as well?
Thanks
Greg
