[Boatanchors] Cheaper than an Orange Drop Capacitor?

Greg,

Orange drops are radial lead, and seldom fit well in BA repairs or
restorations. While I appreciate that they were (apparently no longer are) US made,
they are only appropriate for restoring late 50's/60's tube type TV's.
Whenever I get a radio in to repair, presence of orange drops is a flag to look
for modifications and improper repairs. Or to put it another way, if my
first wife's second husband were scheduled for execution in an electric chair,
the chair didn't work, and they called me in to repair it, I wouldn't use
an orange drop to fix it.

Another good source of axial lead tubular metalized polypropylene
capacitors (good for replacing tubular paper caps in BA's, and also for rebuilding
bathtub and rectangular canned units like in the BC-312 family) is Fair Radio.
They don't stock all values (although I got Phil to add a few) but do have
most values.
