[Boatanchors] GB> Cheaper than an Orange Drop Capacitor?

All: I stopped using Orange Drops some time ago. They aren't true
axial-lead capacitors any longer, and they are clumsy to get into some
areas. The polypropylene caps from Antique Electronics Supply (made by
Illinois Capacitor) are in my opinion every bit as good, are somewhat
smaller, and are true axial-lead caps.

If anyone knows a reason why I shouldn't continue to use them, I'd certainly
appreciate hearing it. If not, I've got three pieces of equipment needing
new caps (a BC-348Q, an AF-67, and a power supply) that are going to get
"the treatment".

Regards,

Subject: GB> Cheaper than an Orange Drop Capacitor?

  Hi:
I went shopping on the WWW today to restock my .1 and .01 uf capacitor
bins. Just about fell thru the floor when I saw how much the 400vdc orange
drop caps have increased in cost. Can anyone recommend an alternative and
cheaper source for the standard coupling and bypass caps I need to repair
receivers and the low level stages in transmitters?
Can you recommend a different format cap that will work as well?
  Thanks
  Greg
