Subject: [Heathkit] Update NØJMY, Hayseed, and Collins PLUG-IN Caps...

First- thank you to the many who have sent encouragement during my
recent medical misadventure. It's good medicine. Wingman Bob Nickels,
W9RAN, keeps it coming my way. Thanks, Bobby.

Hayseed Hamfest is still cranking out can-capacitors, though the service
is somewhat degraded, having suffered a double-whammy of sorts.

The day after I was hospitalized the can vendor's main assembly point
was flooded due to torrential rains. This shut down the line for just
under a week. They resumed production at a reduced rate about a week
ago and are still ramping up to the point where they can get caught up.
So regrettably, we're experiencing some delays in delivery.

Secondly, I handle virtually all the quotes and non-stock work at H.H.
but all these new holes in the old breadbox have not let *me* get up to
full speed yet either. Fact is, I'm pretty well flat on my back for
maybe 16 hrs/day. When I'm up, I haven't yet found a comfortable way to
lean over the computer. So we're not as quick on the draw in answering
inquiries as I would like. Plus, I'm always a little worried as to what
I might say until all the hydrocodone is out of my head, too. HI!

On the plus side, Julie and Denise Marie have at least temporarily
halted all labor strife and continue to bang out the daily stock orders
without any help from me.

LASTLY - I might as well get this out here, since I was just about to
announce it officially the day I got taken out of action (apologies for
all-caps but, yes, I really am shouting):

Hayseed Hamfest is ready to take orders on NEW REPLACEMENT "OCTAL"
PLUG-IN CAPACITORS FOR COLLINS R-390/A, 51-J, etc. Shortly I should
have all the info and a place to order on our web-site. Until then,
e-mail us with any questions and we will reply a.s.a.p.

These are the 3 x 33 uF @ 350V and the 2 x 47 uF @ 350V electrolytics,
all sections at 105C. They will sell for $32.95 each, or a COMBO (one of
each) for $59.95 + S&H. If you want to see the prototype (it's an
eight-pin version) it is here: www.hayseedhamfest.com/plugcap2.jpg .

I've called off the trip to Dayton, as Nickels refuses to carry me
piggy-back up and down the ramp between the arena and the flea-market.

And now, I believe I shall truly hit the "hay" for awhile. Again,
thanks for your support and I look forward to...well, I'm not sure what,
but you have a good one anyway.

73,
Tom NØJMY
