If the oscillator is working the coils are not the problem.

You said you can hear the oscillator in your receiver.

You really need a scope or an RF voltmeter!

Subject: [Boatanchors] DX-35 problem - continued

I might have found the reason for little/no grid drive (NOT adjustable by
the drive control) and that is the installation/orientation of the two
oscillator plate coils (20 and 40 meters).

On page 21 of the manual it says to install the coils with the RED DOT
facing a specific way.

(I can not see a RED DOT on my coils).

I think that the RED DOT signifies either the start or the end of the coil
winding and the coils must be installed accordingly, otherwise why would
they even have the RED DOT?

So, I need some one who has a working DX-35 to look at the coils and tell me
how they are wired with respect to the start and end of the windings.

Or, explain to me how the connection of coils in series are effected by
connecting the start or end of the windings ~ start to start, start to end,
etc. (I hope that made sense)

TIA es 73.
