I was able to get a copy and have actually gotten the well built example that I obtained a while back going. The performance is not quite up to either solid-state converters that I have. But, considering its age it does a pretty fair job.
I am a bit of a "converter junkie" in that I have collected quite a number of various converters including an RME HF 10-20 (10, 15, and 20 meters down to 40 meters) as well as all sorts of 50 MHz, 144 MHz, 222 MHz, and 432 MHz of several different brands and models as well as a number of home brew converters for the various bands. I am always looking for converters of any brand, model, or even home brew that are reasonably priced or for trade.

This is a belated response to your request about the Ham Tips article in the Fall of 1963. I do have that particular issue with the nuvistor converter and would be glad to send you a scanned copy if you have not already found it.
