Mike:
Thanks for the reply and info.
The plate current reading is from the original DX-35 meter and the watt
meter is a really old MFJ, so I am not sure how accurate they are..
Would a neutralization problem cause the shallow dip AND the problem of not
being able to adjust the drive????
I am 99% sure that it is wired correctly, but possible still a bad
connection. . .

756v X .120ma=90.72 w INPUT. You must have a neutrilization problem as your
final is now actitng like an oscillator. Have someone double check your
rebuild for you. Musta miswired something somewhere. Mike G w6we

Subject: [Heathkit] More DX-35 problems
After correcting some stupid mistakes (One bad solder joint and a unsoldered
connection) and the assistance of a few list members, I was able to get B+
to the oscillator.
The rig works except I have a very shallow plate current dip (at 120 mA (756
volts)) and I can not adjust the grid drive. It stays at 4 mA and can not be
changed with the drive control.
Also, the antenna loading control has NO effect on the plate current
reading.
The watt meter shows 100 watts into a dummy load.
The above conditions exist on any band, using several different xtals.
The rig was rebuilt with all new resistors and caps. . . .
Any ideas on correcting the above problem(s)?
