[Boatanchors] On/Off rotary switch

Hi Barrie,

Why could you not use a regular pot ...  (no not that kind...) potentiometer 
with an on off switch?

You may have stated why a few messages ago but I have not followed this 
thread that long.

I don't understand the question about turning the switch.

The switch I have, and I'd like to replace it with a similar switch, has
only two positions:  Left for OFF,
and Right for ON.

The switch is round, about 1 inch in diameter.  I could probably usee a
switch that was 1.5 inches wide.

The shaft is 1/4 inch diameter.  The length of the shaft must be at least 1
inch long.
