Keith,

I don't recall seeing such an article, but as you know, origianal AR-88 
S meters are scarce as hen's teeth.  I fitted the meter movement from an 
old SX-28 S meter into mine with, I think, very good results.  The meter 
works as you'd expect,  and the yellowed backlit scale is a perfect 
match for the AR-88 dial.

I honestly can't remember if I removed the meter case because it 
wouldn't fit, because it was split (as many are), or just because it was 
easier to mount this way.

I'm not advocating wholesale meter-robbery from great old SX-28s here 
;-) - but they are somewhat more available.  The same technique could be 
applied using similar meters as well, I'm sure.
