A very ancient Chinese proverb, or possibly from a now extinct Badger in
Michigan, said: He who waits for others to toot his horn must endure much
silence! Put another way by DBF, He who tosses Gold dust in the winds of
fortune and fate believing goods things come to those who wait - ends up
with no cents, no sense and a bad scent from being too long in the woodlands
of the wilderness! So gentlemen, including you too here Tom, if you "Cast
Your Fate To The Wind", with thanks to A.G. for her moving rendition of this
song in the late sixties, not only ends up penniless, but also without a
window to throw the proverbial pot through! So HONK if you want to be heard
SHOUT if you do not want to be crushed by the deadly silence of history
about to happen and SCREAM if you do not want to be a lyrical phrase in the
song "Shout Brother Shout!".
Go for it Tom, blow your own horn! Toot your own bag of pipes. Honk your
nose by the application of just the right amount of pressure to that bulbous
portion of your snoz and let the world know that you have something that
sooner, or later, they will all need! So make the wind and blow Tom!
Duane, W8DBF
Do you know what they call the passengers in an elevator after one of them
pollutes the air in that closed crate dangling on a worn steel cable having
ingested a Bratwerst andLimpberger cheese sandwich on Whole 'WHAT?' bread
for lunch? Then washed down with a Kentucky hills homebrew dark beer before
said sandwich hardened into a vegetable cousin to concrete? Dead!
On the serious side: If you have a product for Ham Radio, or a publication
that 'you' wrote, you can mention it on this list, or another that may be
more applicable, without fear of violating list policy. However, said item
must be of your own design and creation, 'not' a copy of one described in a
publication or attempt to replicate one you saw in operation at a Ham Fest
etc. NO corporate Ads are allowed! But if this item or printed textis from
your creative juices as a Ham Radio Operator, then it is fine.
If in doubt, contact me direct.
Additionally, the HHI web site also allows such Ads at no cost to you. All
decisions on what appears and what does not are made by our excellent Web
Master W5JT, Jim Thayer. Write Jim at:
webmaster at w9wze.net
For All Of You: Please continue creating reproduction knobs, new dials with
numbers visible without the aid of a 100X magnification lens, rebuilt
capacitors in their original can, rewound audio and power transformers, plug
in rectification devices that look like the original plug in rectifier metal
tube, restored front panels, etc.
