Figures, I wasn't there!
Ditto for me with 810s on ebay. I've paid as much as $40 ea. for NIB
RCAs with the red meatball emblem pyroglazed on the glass, use them in
the 300G transmitter (2x810 mod by 2x810) since they show through the
glass viewing window. Have bought JAN types considered new but not in
boxes for $10-$15 on there as well. Currently have 4 rigs that use
them, soon to be three. Always looking for spares, particularly the
pyroglazed types, just not anywhere near the 'suggested retail' price.
High prices are fast becoming more the exception than the rule on ebay
with fewer people looking for this stuff. Not only that, in amateur
service these things seem to last forever if not beaten on.
