Thank you, Robert. While I kind of knew how that all worked, I wasn't
aware of the timing et al. I do know the ARA-2 (3?)/ATA-3 are what
became the AN/ARC-5 we all know and love. The Navy designation
systems are probably the most confusing to follow with complete
changes coming at a rate similar to how often one changes their
skivvies.
