[Boatanchors] NC-303 RF Amp Grid Resistor Fried ???

In the process of restoring a NC-303 receiver, I noticed that the 33 ohm resistor at the control grid of the RF amp tube (6BZ6)  had fried in half. All other resistors in the circuit are OK. It's no problem to replace the resistor but I could use some advice as to why it happened in the first place and is there more to it than I know. Any help appreciated. 73, Bill, w0ng
