And dont forget that Micamold, NOMA and others put paper foil caps in square
and lozenge shaped enclosures that look just like mica caps.
Since I fired up the Solar Ive been going thru a stash of NOS and old mica
pulls. Ive found many NOS to be anywhere from a bit leaky to real bad. This
is a problem that Ive seen for about 20 years, mostly on a very small scale,
but its rampant the past few years as the deterioation increases.Many forums
involved with vintage gear is reporting it now.
