Thanks for the information. But... The meter on the HT-40 is a relative output meter like the T-60. If I am not mistaken, the book says to peak everything and that is good. According to the book, there is not dip and load at all like the Heath DX series. Peak and go. So, there is not dip and load on the rig.

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it. If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense. Is Common Sense divine?

No...as far as I know, this is a class-C transmitter...you tune for minimum
plate current and gradually add more loading in steps, each time re-dipping
the plate current to minimum until you reach the desired plate current while
dipped.
