I am looking at a HT-40 as a "small" BA transmitter. They sure look like a Knight T-60 design. I am assuming that the HT-40 was not a kit. I do not remember reading that Hallicrafters produced any kits. Is this right?
Also, tuning on the HT-40 looks quite a bit like a T-60 which was just peak everything for max meter deflection. I got into trouble with the T-60 for harmonics and am not sure that I had it tuned right at the age of 15...or put together right for that matter.
Experience is valuable. Can anyone share their experience with the HT40? Also, what VFO did people use when they did not use a Xtal?

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply. If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it. If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense. Is Common Sense divine?
