Dick, the TBW has two RF sections, the Mf and the HF. Both sections are the same size but differ markedly in their circuitry and front panel appearance. The MF section uses an 807 oscillator, 801 IPA, and 803 Pa, while the Hf section uses 2 837's in osc and IPA/multiplier, and 803 PA. It is not practical (nor ethical considering the relative rarity of the MF section) to modify the Mf for HF operation.
The value of the MF section is to complete a full TBW setup for someone.
