[Boatanchors] Bandswitching a PP stage.

Hello:
In a couple of my older handbooks I've seen an arrangement to bandswitch link-coupled, dual section plate and grid coils using tapped coils and a (duh) switch.
In both articles, the switching assembly used was a commercial unit.
At the moment I'm working on a relatively low-power driver using a push-pull pair of 35TGs. I do have plug-in coils for both the grid and plate. However, it may be more convenient to be able to switch a tapped coil rather than removing covers.
I can see several ways to do this, some more complicated than others.
Since the unit will be only for 75 and 160M, I think the simplest way to do it would be to have a rotary ceramic switch, centrally located under the coil, that would short the portions of the coil together for 160M, and open the end portion of the coil for 80M,
Anyone done this? Does it sound reasonable?
