I run an ATC (Navy ART-13) with my BC-312 and who is to say it hadnt been
used that way on some island where all they had was cannibalized wrecks to
work from. A TCS TX would also go well or for low bucks the ARC-5's. There
are plenty of SS mobile supplys from tube xcvrs available to provide
voltages unless you like the inefficient howl of dynamotors or Vibrapak
hash.
Another choice is the Multi-Elmac AF-54 and AF-67 for mobile work.
There were any number of small transmitters available in 1939-41 to go with
a SX-24/25, get some QST's and read the ads or get the ARRL CD. I have a
1938 Meissner Signal Shifter working with a 1934 FB-7 on 30M as well as a
1939-41 Hallicrafters HT-9 (black cabinet) in use here that is paired with a
1941 SX-28. I have other pairings with post war gear.
