Bill,

I can scan and send this  article to you if you still need it, but be 
advised, it's just a one-page piece about converting the final from 6DQ5 
to an 8236.  I can attest that the 8236 is a heckuva tube, having just 
restored a Clegg Apollo Six amplifier that uses a pair of them to put 
out 325 watts.  But it's an expensive tube, and you wouldn't see nearly 
as much impact as simply adding a 1 kw class linear.

I've also recently restored a beautiful HX-50, but I'm not thrilled with 
the audio quality.  It's one of the later production runs that 
incorporates a number of revisions that went into the HX-50A, but aren't 
shown on the manual I have.  So I'm also looking for any docs on this 
version, or the mods that were incorporated into later production models.
