Well, simply "having it" is what a lot of people do with collectibles.
What else can you do with a stamp collection other than look at it or maybe
brag about it. However, I know of a couple of the SCR-624's that are set up as
displays sometimes at MV or re-enactor meets. One is working and the guy
who owns it has a ham license so it's legal over part of its range. However,
his is more nearly complete than this one, which is missing about two
crates. For whatever reason, most that I've seen and all but one that I've had
have only included the radio chest and power supply chest.

That's true of any general coverage as opposed to ham band only set. This
one happens to cover 2-Meters and can be operated (assuming it works of
course) simply by plugging in the appropriate crystals, turning it on and tuning
it up.
