While I am indeed a "ham", I have the ultimate respect for old military 
equipment!  I'm an old retired Sr. NCO.

I'd rather see such equipment put to the "proper" use, as intended, or 
preserved for the history that it represents.

My BC-610s are NOT modified in ANY way.  I simply use them on the ham 
bands WITHOUT hacking them up!
