Other than simply "having it", what "real" use would it be put to?
The ham community would have to modify it to no end! (I think!) As air
comms are pretty high up in frequency today. The frequency coverage, IF
it fell within the range covered by the BC-610, has a pretty good chance
of NOT being in the Amateur Bands.
At least half or more of the tuning units and PA Coils of the BC-610 set
unused for just that reason.
Now, find me a P-51 in its crate in an old hangar in England, as
happened about ten years ago, or find a crated Rolls Merlin or the
original U.S. Allison - THEN we can talk an auction that will FILL your
coffers.
Both engines had an expected life-span of approximately 100 hours!
