[Boatanchors] [ARC5] Tube Tester

That MX-949 adapter often goes for twice the I-177! I use my 177 on the
bench reserved for auto radios which almost never venture into 9 pin
territory. There it does an excellent job of weeding out rather dead and
leaky/noisy tubes. I think it was Nolan Lee who developed the settings for
many later 7 pin tubes.

The 648S did away with the one tube in the circuit which makes it more
reliable as well as offering a full range of sockets. Hopefully it comes
with the settings booklet and addendum for older tubes. If not I can email
you all that.
There was one site in particular that walked me thru the refurb procedure
but its not bookmarked. I replaced a few caps and the primary problem were
dirty switches which cleaned up nicely.

Carl
