Jackson 648 of whichever Letter suffix suits your fancy. Its about the tops
in the emission style tester design and there is a lot of info and tube
settings on them. Its far better than a straight el cheapo emissions tester.
I picked up a 648S minus cover off Ebay for $40 last year, cleaned it up and
gave to #2 son as a Christmas present. The S is a bit new probably for your
needs as it came out near the end of tubes but tests all the way back to
01A's era with available charts.
I made several comparison tests with my Hickok 752A and the 648S is
amazingly close. If you search you'll find that the circuit changed very
little over the years.
