I remember getting a RAO-7 in my pre-Johnny Novice days back in the
70s, complete with scratched and cloudy dial window, Had a piece of
window glass cut to fit, then promptly installed it and tightened down
the dial escutcheon screws. I can still hear the *snick* as the glass
cracked top to bottom. They obviously had more than a few good reasons
for not using REAL glass in these things.

The new plexi-glass-type materials should work well and be easy enough
to work with.
