Another possibility is the older style "thicknet" Ethernet cable with either 
blue or yellow jackets.
Similar to RG-8 foam in characteristics.  I use it at VHF and UHF.

Biggest drawback using the CATV stuff was the connectors, having to make
"custom" units etc.  Typically it is not very flexible, another drawback
for some.

With todays availability of the between series adaptors, connectors are no
problem, just use the TV "F" connector and put on whatever adaptor you
need for type N, UHF, BNC, etc.  They make BNC and TNC crimp connectors
for RG-6, watch for the impedance of connector as different size involved.

The big stuff, trunk runs, can be used if you don't want to bend it too
much.  A great percentage of it is solid aluminum outer with copper plated
aluminum center conductor.  The smaller stuff is typically, foil, with
braid shield and a copper plated steel center, still sorta stiff.  Losses
are very low and as mentioned is readily availbable, especially in runs
that hams can use.  A lot of cable places will give it to you if you haul
it off.  Be carefull of kinks and knicks however.  They rarely reuse
connectors so they are 'gimmies' too.
