I dont think a tester will tell you any more than the Model 59 itself
Mike. If you cant get an indication on any range its either an open
filament, the PS or leaky paper cap problem. If the output drops off as
you go up in frequency its most likely the 955 and those are still
plentiful. I bought 3 NIB on Ebay for $12 shipped when my 59 started to
slow down a bit.
Also the pin to coil form rivets work loose and cause intermittents or
no signal; solder over them.
Im still looking for coils for the Model 59LF head.
