See if you can find an EZ-Out that will fit it. You will probably have to go to a screw supply. Or possibly McMaster-Carr.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Help on drilling out knob setscrew

I've got an aluminum knob on an old rcvr with a completely rounded out allen head setscrew. I've attempted to drill out the set screw using high speed steel, colbalt and tungsten drill bits, all to no avail. Seems this setscrew is harded steel, harder than any drill bit I can find.

Any ideas on drilling this out, guys?

  Thanks in advance.
