[Boatanchors] National 6 pin coil forms

Hi Carl,
You got me thinking, and reading. Actually, coil forms with the same
base were used in the National "AC Thrill Box" (SW-5) first advertised
in QST in July 1930. I'm pretty sure the standard 6-pin tube base was
not introduced until significantly later. The AGS dates to mid-1932.
So, I stand by my position that National's 6-pin bas was a case of
necessity being the mother of invention rather than anal-retentive
marketing,
