Please join with HHI, as well as all the other flavors of vintage rigs, for
the Sunday January 17th 20 meter Halligan's Hallicrafters International Net.
I still do not have my Ameritron AL-82a HF amplifier repaired.
Unfortunately. The guy whom I have never met, but is highly reccomended by
two other Hams locally, told my friend two weeks ago that I would know the
repair issues, the parts needed, the cost of parts + his labor and the
length of time he needed to effect said repairs. Well January 9th has come
and gone - No call, again.
I have no reason to suspect dishonesty or deception. The Ham handling the
amp problem from the outset does not have access to 240 in his repair area.
Hence, a good friend of his who does have 240 available in his repair area
was going to help out.
Tomorrow I will call again -
I am ill, my time left is short. I need my amp working. What operating time
I have left breaks down to three to five weeks. After that I will not be
able to talk. Enough said. I will tell the whole story later. I did not want
to get into it now. But since my situation is somewhat unique, I had to say
more publically then I wanted to.
If somebody out there can help me obtain, and install, a HF amp able to
deliver at least 800 watts, I would be way past thankful. I am willing to
pay a rental fee. I need help, not charity.
The pre-net will commence at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC).
The HHI 20 meter Net will start at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC.)
The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
double dribble sputter splatter. Along with some tune'r up'ers who never ask
if the frequency is in use. The manners of a hydrophebic Hog!
Listen for us from 14.292 MHZ through 14.293 MHZ. I will be operating at one
third of my normal MI Gator tail slamming RF up up and get on your way
power, but I WILL be there drop kicking my watts worth into that mysterious
not even the IRS has figured out yet region we call the Duh Layer!
Please join us and help when or where you can. If you can somehow help me
procure a HF amplifier for several weeks until the not even out of puberty
AL-82 is fixed, it would help me far more then most of you can even imagine.
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow! Please support our new radio lists
Owner, K9FOX, Scott. Help the HHI vintage web site by sending W5JT a few
dollars if possible and contribute ar article, repair tip trip to happy
Halli health, photos, SW logs, tech questions to our live tech help guy and
much much more. Thanks for everything! Be there Sunday or consider yourself
as being a really square wave!
Duane, W8DBF
Come on my vintage brothers, put some glow back into the 3-500Z's and a RF
signal that can make it from my QTH to yours without having to change buses
in Minneapolis and fly by a vintage DC3 fanjet, or is it fantail, whatever,
my signal needs some vitamins! Help!
