Pipe cleaners used to work well too, sometimes a bit of shaving
required. I've had good luck with the Caig products Carl, when used
properly. The problem seems to be some folks seeing them as a cure-all
for any ill, and thinking that if a little works well, a lot will work
even better. Get too much on the old phenolic bandswitch wafers and
you find out fast that this just isn't so.
