Id expect that resistance with 75 H and the low current rating. Its 
certainly going to affect the DC regulation a bit so make the PS as 
stiff as possible so its not a contributor also.

Well, I've finally got most, if not all, of the bugs out of my 
Hallicrafters HT-4B.  On-the-air reports, on 75M and 160M, say that the 
rig sounds very good.

In order to "guild the lilly", I'm going to install an outboard 
modulation reactor.

The one I'm going to use is out of a Gates 250GY.  According to the 
Gates manual, that transmitter drew approximately 267 ma of plate 
current, CCS.

My HT-4B draws, at most, 250 ma of plate current, and that's ICAS.  So, 
I'm thinking that I should be OK as far as current-carrying capacity.

I'm a bit concerned that the resistance is 223 ohms.  That seems to be a 
bit much for a CCS, HV choke.

I plan on Hipotting the choke.  The Gates ran 1350 volts on the plate, 
while I will be running 2000 volts.

What would be a good upper-limit Hipot voltage (my hipot is DC)?

On my inductance meter the choke measures 75 henries.  A replacement 
choke listed in the Peter Dahl catalog is stated to be 65 henries.  I 
think that's closer to correct and may be an "under load" figure.

I plan on using a 4 mfd @ 10,000 volt oil cap in conjunction with the 
reactor.

Other than watching out for sparks, are there any words of wisdom 
regarding my grand plan?
