Greetings all,

Those are called shaft locks. James Millen part Number 10060,
10061, 10062, and 10063 and others. I use them on power supplies the
company I work for builds. The one we use has a Hex nut that crimps down
on a split gland nut that holds the control to the panel. You need a 3/8"
spin tight to loosen or tighten to make adjustments. A good way to keep
someone from fiddling with the output. I have a few High Current single
phase supples I use in the shack that have variable control pots on the
front panel, one each for voltage and current. But I prefer to remote
program the supplies using fixed resistors, so people can twist the knobs
all they want and it won't hurt anything. Just my two and one half cents
worth.
