Happy New Year, all!
I have an old filament transformer here that I can't imagine ever using. I
would like to know if this would be of use to someone, & what it may be
worth. It's probably 1950's vintage and was once in a power supply it
appears.
It is a Chicago Standard Transformer Corp. model P-6468. Primary is 117 or
107 volts, and secondary is 5.0 volts, center-tapped, at 30 amps.
Insulation rating on the label says 2500 volts. It weighs 6 pounds. The
core measures 4 x 3.5 x 1.5 inches. There is some light rust where the old
paint is missing but it looks like just a little on the surface only.
Ohmmeter shows proper continuity through the windings but I've no way to
test the primary-to-secondary insulation.
