As Jim Ricks, W9TO (the inventor of it) said of the "single lever" operation,
"it has built-in logic... you have one side (dahs) or the other 
(dits) but never
both at the same time."  To one who learned this type back in the early 60s
the Iambic is a series of mistakes waiting to happen. :-)
