[Boatanchors] National NC-300 problem solved!

Gentlemen:

Once again the group has come through to help a fellow old-fart fix a 
receiver.

For those of you who forgot (or didn't know) the problem, the band dial 
display did not track the band switch position.

Rod K0EQH, John Iverson K0EWU, Jim Wihite W5JO, and Garey Barrell K4OAH, all 
leaped into the fray with good suggestions as to how to fix the problem but 
it was Garey who properly identified the problem as being the fact that my 
balls were the wrong size (the balls on the dial cord chain, that is!). 
Someone had replaced the chain with a #4 chain when it should have been a 
#2. Who even knew the damn things had numbers?

Like any good Ham, I rooted through my junk box and found a length of the 
proper chain (I just knew I'd need it some day) and the problem was solved.

It was too late to save what little hair I had scratched off my head trying 
to solve the problem but I can sleep nights now without waking up in the 
middle of the night thinking about the problem.
