[Boatanchors] R-1051?

Hi all,
 
I was outbid last night on a nice R-1051D. I currently have a T-827D used with my URT-23. I know the R-1051 wasnt used in this radio (I guess the Tx and Rx were mostly run separately) but I do know that the T-827 and R-1051 were used together in the AN/WRC-1
 
Make a long story short, can anyone point me to a somewhat definitive description of the changes from R-1051(plan) B,C,D,E,F,G? I did some googling to no avail. I did find bits and pieces about the difference but some information seemed to be contradictory. Seems like one of those things someone might have already put together and published somewhere.
 
The one I missed last night was a D which I thought could be good to match with my T-827D. The seller indicated that this had the metal chain. Some information I found on the internet seemed to indicate otherwise. Who is right?
 
And while I havent 100% made up my mind to get an R-1051, I guess it couldnt hurt to ask the list if anyone has one for sale (I'm in NY). Good condition (not mint), working, metal chain preferably.
