Hi there.
I have had this audio filter for quite some time. I decided to give her
a try and I turned the mode switch (peak, notch, etc) and the shaft part
gave way. The shaft has as split in it (sort of two halves with a little
space between. It seems one of the leaves broke off.
Unit is in decent shape, some scuffs and marks on the top. Some dirt
etc. It think it worked many years ago when I last tried it but I can't
vouch for it. The switch does work, its just that the knob no longer
sits on it well.
I really don't feel like trying to fix it (maybe some jb weld would do
it).
So I'll let it go for $30 plus shipping from 10510. Looking on ebay,
these seem to go for around $60. Oh, BTW: I am pretty sure I have the
manual for this, its really only several sheets of 8.5x11 paper.
Paypal is fine.
On the topic of outboard audio filters...Anyone use a krohne-hite type
filter for ham use? I saw an older, tube version sell on ebay lately and
the owner said he used it on his R390 and loved the results.
I was wondering if anyone else had experience? Fact is, this QF-1A
seemed a little complicated to operate. The krohne hites seem simple.
Set high-pass cut off, then set low pass cut off. The QF-1A had all
kinds of strange settings.
Any thoughts or opinions?
